Be Sensitive, Be Brave – For Suicide Prevention

The suicide prevention workshop teaches community members to act as eyes and ears for suicidal distress and to connect individuals to help.

Delivery: Workshops are presented in-person or virtually with interactive breakout groups.

Audience: Designed for helpers for all ages: children, adolescents, adults, & older adults. Approximately 15-40 participants per session.

Training Time: 2-hour workshop

Goals:

  • Identify signs of suicide

  • Ask if someone is considering suicide sensitively and confidently

  • Connect individuals with the appropriate support

  • Approach suicide prevention in a culturally sensitive manner

This evidence-based training was developed by Community Connections Psychological Associates Inc., based on empirical research about culture, diversity, suicide prevention, and mental health.

BSBB has been translated and adapted to be delivered in other languages as well including: Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tongan, Tagalog, Korean and soon to be more!
