In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the City of Meridian Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) and Mayor’s Senior Advisory Board (MSAB) are teaming up with Connection is the Cure to host an evening of education, connection, art, and service at Meridian City Hall. The event kicks off at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 23rd in the Council Chambers of Meridian City Hall with a series of presentations by featured speakers whose work—voluntary or professional—touches on aspects of mental health and suicide prevention. Following the presentations, attendees are encouraged to visit booths stationed by representatives of various groups and organizations to learn more about the community resources available in our area. Afterward, MYAC students will lead a chalk art project with attendees in the Meridian City Hall Plaza—encouraging attendees to cover the concrete with kind, compassionate, and uplifting messages and art.
This event is free and open to the public. Those who are unable to attend in person may watch the livestream of the presentations by visiting www.meridiancity.org/live. The recording will be available on the City of Meridian YouTube page following the event.
